a little about us:

Baha’is have lived in Visalia since 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holley, both
graduated from Stanford University, were the first Baha’is to live in Visalia. The first Local Spiritual Assembly (the nine elected local administrative body) was established in 1921. At that time the population of Visalia was 6,400.

Presently, the Bahá’ís in Visalia, are comprised of people from different
backgrounds and walks of life. Inspired by the belief in the oneness of humanity, the oneness of religion and the oneness of God, Bahá’ís come together for devotional, community, and humanitarian activities. Together we are striving to build a community that demonstrates practical solutions to the challenges of modern society. We believe that our experience is a source of optimism for all who share our vision of humanity as one global family, and the earth as one homeland.

The Bahá’í Faith is administered by nine elected bodies at local, national and international levels. It does not have clergy or individuals in positions of personal leadership, therefore, promoting personal investigation of truth. All sacred text have been translated into many languages, which allows anyone to be able to study and deepen their understanding of the spiritual teachings and guiding principles of the faith. The Baha’i faith promotes unity among people and catagorically forbids strife, conflict and contention. Baha’is, therefore, do not enter partisan politics and are obedient to the rules of any country or local government they reside in.  We hope that you will find these pages as a good starting point in your search.
